What you might experience as a Medical Supply Aide:
1.) Strict Dress Code
2.) Sterile Processing Prep
3.) Decontamination
- All Medical Supply Aides must be dressed in scrubs. If you are working Prep, you will also need to wear a brown lab coat, hair covering (for head and facial hair) and foot covering. In Decontamination, students wear an extra head covering, purple gown, and gloves.

- Look for commodes or wheel chairs that are ready for delivery
- Prep-Surgery Kits on Case Carts
- Wrap Sterilized Medical Supplies for delivery in the hospital
- Empty the cart wash where items have been sterilized and dry each item
3.) Decontamination
- Dress out in white gown, white booties that go up to my calf, two hair coverings, and gloves
- Going on a run to pick up dirty dispatch and soil dispatch on 4 floors
- Wheel run to all floors for commodes and pumps
- Clean and wrap all chords
- Collect case carts from the Operating Room
- Load the cart wash
